Cheshire Cat No. 2 - 3 by wingdthing Cheshire Cat No. 2 - 3 by wingdthing
New sculpt for the week of August 4, 2009. One of a kind polymer clay sculpture by Nicole West.

Oh man do I not want to sell this piece! I'm a huge Alice fanatic and this piece was just way too fun to create. I hope all you fellow fanatics love her as well. She marks the real begining of my much anticipated trip down the rabbit hole. There will be more suprises to come. Enjoy!

This is some of the most amazing art I have ever seen.

How do you use for your base and inner structure for these?

Also what tpye of clay do you use?

I would love to get into clay work and have a little in the past but it be nice to get some direction from such an incredible artist.

Thank you very much!

I use an aluminum wire armature on the inside of the sculpts. There are a lot of polymer clays out there. Some are more expensive than others. I will tell you what I use. I use a mix of Prosculpt, Fimo and Kato clays. Here are a few places you can shop for clay.

wow she is amazing!
the look on her face, the smirk, the eyes it all says 'Cheshire Cat' and all the pink and purple colors help give it that alice in wounderland feel while keeping it sexy.
have you ever heard of panic at the disco?
if nawt i think you'd really like them and even possibly get some inspiration from them.
their music and style reminds me a lot of your work.
and Brendon the singer his face actually reminds me a lot of some of your dolls. =)

Thank you so much! You never know how people will react to taking something so classic and changing it up. But that's my favorite thing to do. ;)

I have heard of Panic at the Disco but never checked them out. Now I will definitely have to go do a google search. I love inspiration and you have me really curious. Thank you!

very beautiful and nice colors.
Are the eyes, doll eyes/glass eyes? Because they add a lot to your pieces.
