Wow, thank you so much! It's nice to hear such encouragement after doing something outside of the usual. I think there may be more of these women waiting in the wings. I love Luis Royo's warrior women so much, I think I shall pick one to try for next time. ;)

Ah, Subversive Beauty.(had to go look the name up myself!) Yes, I have the same book. I've never seen such beautiful faces on such strong women. I have to soften up the look a bit because it's just not what my collectors are into. Have to put my own spin on it anyways, right?
Thanks for believing in me!

difference between believing and being certain.
I have a favorite artist too, when it comes to muscular women with pretty faces, i turn to frank cho.
...twisted beauty... sheesh, must have sounded like a dorknob xD

Don't know Frank Cho, I'll have to check him out.

Naw, you didn't sound that way, I knew exactly what you meant. I had to go check the name myself because I didn't know. ;)

Frank cho is an iconic comic artist of this days, he started in CAVEWOMAN and a few years back he did a remake of Shanna the she-devil, good material for strong women.

this is his site, also he's done some stuff for marvel and Dynamite...
one of my all time idols in the drawing area.

I see my padawan got first comment! Lol i trained her well...;)
Really like this new one! Makes a nice change from your usual wonders! This one is a bit more 'me',definately,i love all the clothing details.
The one thing i might have done personally is filled out the wings a bit more,to suggest a better load bearing idea. If you want,i can send you a tutorial on sculpting feathers and making wings,i got it from the interview i went to for that sculpting job i told you about :)
Another Fave from me!

Leave it to you to zero in on the one thing I wish I had spent more time on. ;) I see we think alike. This piece was inspired by, of all things, a Victoria's Secret runway show. I did the wings how one of the models had hers. I was originally going to do a lingerie version, but decided to make it more real. Guess I forgot that when I got to the wings. To be honest, I was so sick of this piece at that point that I just wanted to get her finished and out of my face.
But dude, I would totally LOVE a tutorial on sculpting feathers, as it's the one thing I hate doing.
Thanks for being so cool Ben.

Hey, how is it going with the job thing?

Gorgeous!!! I adore the little Hermes 'like' wings at her heels.

This is a very good visualization of a Norse Valkyrie. Love her!!!:D

Wow, thank you so much! It's not an easy subject to tackle. I didn't want to do a big muscley Red Sonja looking woman, but didn't want her to be as soft as my pinups. I'm glad to hear I found just the right balance.

I have to agree with your vision. When I've envisioned a Valkyrie I never imagined them as female body-builders. So you did a great job, she is gorgeous.:)

-I followed your link and checked out more photos of her, I love the bikin-bottom -like garment, that opal and the detailing is gorgeous!!:D

Ah, thank you! I wanted to do something similar in feel to the Zodiac series I did. I just adore embedding stones into clay. ;)
