New piece for the week of 3/10/09. Polymer clay fantasy sculpture by Nicole West.

Well I had an all out blast with this piece. I never thought doing so much detail work could be so fun! She came out a bit cuter than I had planned, but I am in absolute love with her just the same. This will be a hard one to let go of...

well you do exceptional work! I love the hearts and key holes (a theme I find floating around in my mind often) keys can hold so much symbology.
You do such detailed work, its simply beautiful it really is.

Out of curiosity because I'm considering trying out dollmaking myself, what type of polymer clay do you use?

I use a mix of three different clays. Prosculpt, Fimo and Kato.

I adore her! Is she the Emilie inspired one? Tea toned, keys, heart.. ^^ The skirt made me think of drearyfairy here on da...or was it draped fairy... ah I forgot the name.... I've been wondering for ages, do you sew the outfits or do you glue them on?

She is wonderful, and the details are brilliant!

Oh thank you! She is slightly inspired by Emilie. I had to put a hold on the one that is really inspired by her but hope to get back to her in a month or two.
Yes, wearydrearies dresses are totally the look I went for here. I'm not a tiny waif so I couldn't never pull off one of those dresses, so my sculpts will wear them! ;)
I both sew and use glue when it comes to the outfits.
